About Me!

I am a 23-year-old female from a small town outside of Hershey, PA.  I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelor’s in History and the weekend of graduation also married the love of my life.

In the past year Ryan and I have had several ups and downs, primarily because of an eating disorder I have had for a significant portion of my life.  The blogging community has helped me immensely on my road to recovery and if I can provide inspiration for at least one person, I will consider myself accomplished!

But outside the boring stuff I love to spend time with my family, travel, read, cook, bake, exercise, be outdoors, work, and much, much more.

I work in alternative education doing anything I can to help kids in grades six-twelve change their lives for the better. In the summer I manage a small community pool, while enjoying the sunshine and catching up on my reading.

If there is anything else you want to know please don’t hesitate to ask!  I can’t wait to “meet” the rest of the blogging community!

  1. I found your blog from your post on Healthy Living Summit Facebook page. I live just outside Harrisburg, PA too!! I can’t believe you got married the same weekend you graduated from college…wasn’t that stressful?

  2. I am so glad you commented on my blog so that I could find yours! Thank you for your honesty in the posts I have read so far… I can tell you are fighting and are going to be living the life we deserve to quite soon

  3. I found your blog on the HLS page as well! Though I’m not going to be there, I had to write to you because I just moved from Exton, PA to Orlando, FL in January, and I’m not working as a Disney Travel Specialist! Sounds like we have some interests (and locations) in common! 🙂 Keep up the great blogging!

  4. You’re definitely an inspiration to MANY of us. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your story—as someone not yet in recovery, I have so much respect for your strength and perseverance in fighting your eating disorder and regaining a real life.

    • Sharing my story has helped me stay on track! I don’t think without this blog I would be doing the healthy thing on a daily basis. Sweet comments like this are my inspiration!!! Thanks for reading!!!

  12. Hi! I found your blog through some other healthy-living blogs and just felt very compelled to comment. I spent some time reading your posts and I think you have a very positive attitude about recovery. It’s very apparent that you want to end the suffering and find a happy life without the ED. A lot of people say “good job, you’re doing great” but not a lot of people stop to say “I know you can do this, I can tell from your character” and I just thought I would let you know that I can truly tell that you are strong, and deserve a good life!

    • Oh my gosh thank you so much for this comment. I was having such a tough day and this was just awesome to see in my inbox. you are a doll! hope you are having a great weekend!

  13. hey! happened to chance upon your blog somehow. think its pretty cool that though i live halfway around the world, you happen to live in the place that is closest to the college ei want to go to (messiah, not sure if you heard of it). either way, think you should be proud of the progress you have made. we can do this (: stay strong. i write too, but not just on ed stuff.. trlittlemissnic.tumblr.com 🙂
